What do you do with paper shaper?

I’m looking for back to school items for my little sister, and I saw on website of crayola those paper shaper. What is this and is great for art class, grade 6? She goes to private Catholic school and I need to know if that paper shaper is worth of buying cuz it’s so expensive and does it more develop artistic abilities or it’s just for special request?

Also I know that it’s great for origami, but on front picture of the box shows an owl from that paper shaper.
